TW Gaze in Diss toasts long-serving staff
The director of a popular auctioneers has praised her team for their long service as two members celebrated career milestones.
Nearly half of the team of 32 in the auction rooms of TW Gaze in Diss have worked there for 20 years.
This month saw senior valuer James Bassam reach 30 years of service, while, in October, jewellery specialist, auctioneer and valuer Lisa West celebrated 20 years with the business.
Elizabeth Talbot, auction rooms director, said she valued the fact that TW Gaze has so many long-serving members of staff and appreciates that it is a unique and rare scenario in this day and age.
The director, who herself will be celebrating 30 years with the firm in 2025, said: “A company’s employees are its greatest asset and these milestones represent loyalty, dedication and lots of very hard work.
“We are proud of the pool of phenomenal knowledge, experience and expertise which has evolved amongst the team, not to mention the professional accountability and continuity of service they have provided for our customers – something which is sadly lacking in many areas of our fast-moving, impersonal world.
“My colleagues are the bedrock upon which our reputation as a friendly, approachable and people-orientated business is built.
“I’d like to thank them all publicly for their steadfast commitment and hard work over the years.”
The business, which was established in 1857 by Thomas Williams as an agricultural valuers and auctioneers, now has a combined 289 years of experience.
The auction rooms hosts weekly sales, with more than 1,500 lots on average going under the hammer.
Alongside the auction rooms in Roydon Road, it has an estate agency on Market Hill.
