Members of the 1st Fressingfield Scout Group have enjoyed a good start to the year by being awarded a top scout award. Five scouts have achieved the Queen’s Scout Award, while scout leader Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne is to receive the Chief Scout’s Commendation for Good Service.

Assistant adventure Scout leaders Jordan Sach, of Stradbroke and Marc Aalders-Dunthorne of Fressingfield, assistant explorer Scout leader Lewis Craig from Hoxne, assistant Cub Scout leader Pawel Procner, also of Hoxne and Thwaite’s Callum Barber, an explorer Scout, make up the ‘Fressingfield Five’ who will be recognised.

The successful individuals have completed a number of hiking, sport, community and leadership development challenges over the past four years, including an expedition to Kenya. The ‘Fressingfield Five’ will attend St George’s Day at the Annual Parade of Queen’s Scouts at the quadrangle at Windsor Castle, before being presented the awards at the National Scout Service in St George’s Chapel by chief scout Bear Grylls.
