Tobacco products stolen in Laxfield shop burglary

Numerous tobacco products were stolen during a burglary of a business in Laxfield in the early of hours of this morning, igniting a police appeal for information.

Two people wearing balaclavas were involved in the thefts, after forcing entry to the shop, which is in High Street, at approximately 3.35am.

Suffolk Police believe this burglary may be linked to a separate incident at a shop in Horham, in which the sensors on the shop’s security lights had been removed at some point overnight last night.

Officers are urging residents to remain extra vigilant and to contact the police immediately if they see or hear anything suspicious.

Anybody who may have noticed any suspicious activity in either location is urged to contact Bury St Edmunds CID by calling Suffolk Police on 101 and quoting the crime reference number 37/11901/15.

Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
