Tidying up in time for the royal birthday
Breckland is tidying up in time for the Queen’s 90th birthday in April.
Twenty-one litter picks are taking place - and in return Breckland Council is paying out grants of to £200 towards special royal birthday events. Locally, children from Garboldisham Primary School will be picking up litter from March 9-11 and Attleborough Junior School pupils from March 7-11. The money they receive will towards tea parties with older residents.

Although most communities have chosen tea parties, other special events include a royal-themed quiz and a piano recital.
Trevor Carter, Breckland executive member, said: “I am delighted so many community groups came forward to bid for this grant funding, and that we’ve been able to thank the volunteers by supporting these exciting community events.
