Thousands of people helped home furnishings business Glasswells celebrate its 70th anniversary over the weekend.
They enjoyed a wealth of family fun and a party style atmosphere at the firm’s stores in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Each day attracted more than 1,000 customers with the first 70 at each store receiving goody bags and people queuing at the door waiting for the festivities to begin.
Sales director Kevin Robertson said: “It all went very well and we were really pleased with the way the whole weekend went.
“There was a relaxed party atmosphere and all the staff got involved and dressed up. We had some good feedback and people were talking about the years gone by.”
Singer Fiona Harrison provided the soundtrack for the event as she serenaded customers with tunes from the 1940s to 60s. In Bury, she took to the stage at the store’s ‘Furniture Through The Ages’ display.
Other highlights included face-painting, balloon modelling, a magician, treasure hunt, demonstrations and a variety of competitions.
