Elysian Wellbeing in St Nicholas Street, Diss, and is the latest venture from the team behind Elysian Aesthetics Clinic and Beauty Rooms
A new wellbeing centre has launched offering yoga, pilates, tai chi, and more, in the heart of the town.
Elysian Wellbeing has opened in St Nicholas Street and is the latest venture from the team behind Elysian Aesthetics Clinic and Beauty Rooms, a long-established and much-loved business, in the same street.
The studio officially opened its doors on June 11 and has already been welcomed by the community.
Elysian Wellbeing offers a calming environment for individuals of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels to explore movement, mindfulness, and personal connection.
Current class offerings include Vinyasa, Hatha, and Ashtanga Yoga, along with Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Pranayama (breathwork), and Mat Pilates. More classes and specialist workshops are planned in the coming months.
Andrea Orton, owner of Elysian, said: “We're delighted to bring this new wellness space to Diss, complementing the range of therapies already offered at our Aesthetics and Beauty Clinic.
“This is just the beginning - with meditation evenings, reiki, and sound baths still to come. This has been a dream of mine for some time, and I’m thrilled to finally open the doors!”
Open 7 days a week. All classes are just £10 per hour.
Pilates instructor, Emma Lister, said: “I lived in London for most of my career as a ballet dancer; a career that you know is going to be over before you’re ready for it to be. So I retrained as a pilates instructor before I retired. I did all my training at once, mat and equipment pilates.
“ I needed 500 hours of observed teaching, plus written and practical exams to pass...it was gruelling trying to keep up with it all while still rehearsing and performing, but I’m glad I stuck it out as it meant I was pretty experienced as a teacher when I finally stopped dancing.
“I’ve been teaching in Norfolk and Suffolk since the end of the pandemic, but this is the first time I’ve been able to teach locally.
“I’m really pleased that new things are opening in this little corner of Diss, I really think it’s a town with so much potential. There’s room for all sorts of classes and cafés and opportunities for community hubs. I’m at home teaching people who are absolute beginners or who may have complex needs.”
Ben Barry, tai chi instructor, said: “After learning and training in China, I’m excited to bring the ancient teachings of Tai Chi and Qi Gong to Diss.”
