The Castleton Brass reaches national finals

A north Suffolk brass band is rejoicing after successfully qualifying for the finals of a national music competition.

Castleton Brass secured a second-place finish in the regional contest of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in Stevenage on March 22, which saw 21 bands from Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and nine other counties beyound East Anglia compete for a top-three finish.

The band is now set to represent Eye and Suffolk when it competes in the Fourth Section National Finals, which take place on September 19 in Cheltenham.

Christine Wade, chairman for Castleton Brass, said the band members were all “absolutely delighted” with their achievement.
