Tests have failed to show why a man from Eye died in a hotel bedroom in Albania, a coroner has said.

Nicholas Gould, 38, was found on May 1 by staff at the hotel in the capital Tirana where he was staying for a short break.

Today (Monday) an inquest on Mr Gould was opened at Bury St Edmunds where assistant Suffolk Coroner Yvonne Blake said reports indicated that he had been dead for at least six hours.

Following the return of Mr Gould’s body to the UK, a post mortem examination had been conducted but had failed to establish how he died.

Mrs Blake, who adjourned the inquest until September to allow further enquiries to be made, said that Mr Gould was known to have a medical history of epilepsy.
