Tank museum locked and loaded for reopening

A Forncett St Peter military museum is putting the finishing touches to its site as it prepares to welcome back visitors tomorrow.

The Norfolk Tank Museum, in Station Road, will opening on Sundays and Tuesdays, and hopes to gradually extend its opening hours as restrictions are slowly eased across the UK.

Stephen Machaye said: “I am genuinely excited about reopening. We have a one-way system in the museum, stickers and signs about social distancing and extra staff on hand to ensure that people respect the guidelines.”

In the short term, the museum will not be offering tank rides or for people to get inside the vehicles, but it is hoped these restrictions will be lifted in the near future.

The reopening follows the news that one of the biggest events in the site’s calendar, Armourfest, will not be taking place this year.

The popular family event will resume in 2021, with plans and dates yet to be finalised.
