Surprise send-off for long-serving Old Buckenham High School dinner lady

A well-known dinner lady received a surprise send-off from staff at Old Buckenham High School last week, as she retired having been associated with the school for 77 years.

Pauline Cattermole, affectionately known to many staff and students as ‘Nanny P’, worked for the last three decades as a Midday Supervisory Assistant, although her origins with the school go back to when she first attended in 1939, at the age of five. As a pupil, she represented Norfolk and England in athletics, and she was named Head Girl in 1948.
