Sakura Studio Gallery founder, Albany Tripp from Diss, blown away after top award win
A fledgling business, which is making a name for itself as a showcase for independent artists, has picked up a top industry award.
Sakura Studio Gallery was named as one of the StartUps of the Year at the East of England StartUp Awards.
Founder and Diss resident Albany Tripp, who operates from Stonham Barns Park, said: “I can’t express how grateful I am to be able to have this art space where I am able to create and share my love for art.
“I have been absolutely blown away by the amount of support I have received. I still can’t quite believe I won Creative StartUp of the Year.
“I'm so grateful to our visitors, our artists, and to everyone at Stonham Barns Park for their incredible support during the last 15 months since I first opened Sakura Studio Gallery. Never could I have imagined winning. I was surprised just to be shortlisted.”
As a regional category winner, Sakura Studio Gallery will now progress to the UK Startup Awards final being held at Ideas Fest on September 12th, dubbed ‘the Glastonbury for Entrepreneurs’
The UK StartUp Awards was launched to recognise the booming start-up scene across the UK which has accelerated over the last few years with more than 900,000 new businesses founded in the UK in 2023, a 12 per cent increase from the year before.
