Members and friends joined the officers of the Stradbroke and District Branch of the Royal British Legion on Friday to remember the fallen at the village war memorial.

A wreath was laid, and those present heard The Last Post and Reveille in recognition of the 70th Anniversary of V E Day.

Prayers were said, and the names were read of those who had lost their lives in the Second World War.

Reverend David Streeter, secretary of the Stradbroke and District branch, told the Diss Express: β€œIt was a coincidence it was the same weekend of the general election – we hope we can make a better world 70 years on.”
