Harleston Ladies Circle star bakers bag £263 with bake sale for its ‘Spring Fest’

A Harleston branch of a group with an ethos of “friendship, fundraising and fun” held a bake sale on March 23 to help with its first spring festival.

Members of Harleston Ladies Circle made just over £263 from selling their cakes outside The Swan Hotel.

The Thoroughfare event was part of a number of ideas the group is putting together to help fund this year’s spring festival, which will be taking place at The Cap pub on May 4.

Ladies Circle chairman Lizzy Pegg said: “Even though we have had loads of generous sponsors who have come forward to support the event, we still need the best part of £2,000 if we are to hold it.”

“So the bake sale has helped, as did a bingo night at The Cap on Tuesday night, which made £195.

“Thank you to everyone who is coming out to help us.”

The group also had a stall yesterday at the spring fair in the Market Place and will host a quiz night at The Swan Hotel on April 5.
