St John’s Ambulance launches South Norfolk Network with free first aid demonstrations
First aid and healthcare charity, St John Ambulance, will be holding demonstrations in a town tomorrow to celebrate the launch of its new South Norfolk Network.
This new network has seen the adult and youth volunteer units based in Diss and Mulbarton merge to create a more geographically diverse group of volunteers dedicated to delivering first aid at events and providing life-saving training to the local community.
The event, between 9am and 1pm at the East of England Coop, Bullock Fair Close, in Harleston (IP20 9AT), will see adult volunteers offering free first aid demonstrations focusing on how to save a life using Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and a defibrillator.
Robert Wisken, St John’s South Norfolk Network Lead, said: “We are hoping to see many members of the public and teaching them vital first aid techniques.
“At the event we will also be telling visitors how our new approach to first aid delivery in the community will work, and highlighting opportunities for people to join St John Ambulance in a variety of volunteer roles.
“It is a good time to join us as we have ambitious plans to expand the team in South Norfolk over the next few months.”
