Six pigs killed after lorry overturns on A140 roundabout at Stuston

Six pigs have died after a lorry overturned at a busy roundabout.

SuffolkNews reported earlier today that the A143 at Stuston, near Diss, was closed after a lorry had overturned on the A140 roundabout.

A police spokesperson said the lorry was carrying more than 100 pigs, of which many were injured and six died as a result of the crash.

The lorry struck a lamp post in the incident and as such Suffolk Highways is now handling the road closure.

A spokesperson said: “Following a road traffic incident, Suffolk Highways is working alongside other local authorities and organisations to reopen the road safely.”

The crash also caused a small amount of fuel to spill onto the road, which is being managed by Highways.
