WWF summer fund-raiser for Alburgh with Denton Primary Academy

A school has been taking part in a fund-raiser for WWF as part of their summer term studies.

Children at Alburgh with Denton Primary Academy were encouraged to raise money by doing helpful tasks, while also learning about conservation during classes.

The aim was for each class to raise enough money to sponsor an animal of their choice for a year through tasks such as washing up, watering plants, cutting the grass or holding a cake sale.

Additionally, June 26 saw the pupils come to school dressed as animals as part of WWF Day in school, where they spent time learning, discussing, and taking part in WWF-themed activities.

More than £800 has been raised by the children, who then had the opportunity to share their fundraising stories with their class.

The school will now receive sponsorship packs from the WWF, so the children can follow the four animals their funds have sponsored.
