High school near Attleborough sees staff member test positive for Covid-19 leading to closure and deep cleaning
A high school has been closed today following a positive Covid-19 test result for a staff member.
Old Buckenham High School in Old Buckenham, Attleborough made the announcement late last night, with head teacher Andrew Fell commenting: "While it is regrettable to close the school on Monday, this incident has shown that systems are in place and working to quickly deal with any issues related to Covid-19. The school will be deep cleaned on Monday and decisions about re-opening conveyed to parents as soon as is practicable."
The school has followed established protocols since the test result and a number of staff members, including head teacher Andrew Fell are now required to self isolate.
Mr Andy Dwight will take operational control of the school and will be supported by Andrew Fell, working from home, and leaders from within
Sapientia Education Trust.
Jonathan Taylor, CEO of Sapientia Education Trust said: "Whilst we regret the further disruption, we are working with colleagues in Public Health England to take all necessary steps to plan the re-opening of the school. I would like to thank parents, students and staff for their ongoing support."
The school will reopen on Tuesday September 8.
