Redlingfield Fun Dog Show proves a hit after raising more than £800 with almost 100 entrants
A fun dog show with almost 100 entrants across various categories proved a hit after raising more than £800.
About 150 canine lovers flocked to the Redlingfield Dog Show at the village’s Doorstep Green on Sunday.
Along with the dog show where a number of rosettes were handed out, attendees were treated to a gun dog demonstration and local resident Adelaide Chinn, who is a qualified animal physiotherapist, showed people how to do animal first aid.
A total of £843 was raised, with £543 going towards the village church and £300 to the play area at Doorstep Green.
There were also stalls, a raffle, a BBQ and refreshments on offer, with a pop-up pub which also proved to be popular.
It was the sixth time the Redingfield Dog Show was held in the village — with it being held every year since 2019 apart from once during the pandemic.
Janet Norman-Philips, clerk at Redlingfield Parish Council, said: “People really seem to enjoy it as it tries to live up to the fun part.
“It's not high pressure and though there are winners in each class, every dog gets a rosette just for participating.
“The weather was perfect, sunny and bright but not too hot, and we definitely plan to hold it again next year.”
