A143 Harleston bypass and C571 Redenhall Road set to close for ‘essential’ £184,000 resurfacing work




Two roads to be closed for £184,000 resurfacing work.

The road closure will be on the A143 Harleston bypass and C571 Redenhall Road at the roundabout.

Norfolk County Council is set to carry out ‘essential road re-surfacing’.

Work is due to start on Monday June 23 2025, for five days finishing on Saturday June 28 subject to any weather or construction delays.

Norfolk County Council says: “To try and minimise the disruption to the network and in order to carry out the works as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible it will be necessary to close: A143 Harleston Bypass 175 metres Southwards from roundabout with C571 Redenhall Road/Bungay Road.

“C571 Redenhall Road, 80 metres Westwards from roundabout.

“Road closures will only be in place evening / overnight works 7pm to 5am.

“Whilst we will make every effort to ensure access to businesses and properties within the closure is maintained, there may be some minor delays while the surfacing work is being carried out.”

A fully signed diversion route will be in operation for the duration of the works.

The work which will cost around £184,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Services and their contractors.
