Road closure planned on Sawmills Road, Diss

Roadworks are set to begin on Sawmills Road, in Diss, this weekend.

Norfolk County Council (NCC) have announced the road will be closed to through traffic whilst the work is carried out.

It will involve stripping the existing worn-out surface of the carriageway and resurfacing it, with new road markings being instated – along Sawmills Road and the Sandy Lane roundabout.

The work will be carried over the next four Sundays – beginning on October 10 and finishing on October 31.

During the closures a signed diversion route will be in place, whilst access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and Simonds coaches – who are based on the nearby Oak Drive.

The work which will cost approximately £100,000 and will be carried out by NCC’s Community and Environmental Services Department, along with their contractors.
