In recognition of the Centenary of the First World War, Riddlesworth Hall Preparatory School celebrated and commemorated events with a series of activities and formal occasions during November.
Pupils came to School appropriately dressed and re-enacted a series of historical events.
On the Monday they visited the Recruiting Office, and were registered under the authority of Regiment Sergeant Major Cochrane (Headmaster). They were then drilled on the parade ground and given a traditional P.T. lesson of one hundred years ago. Lessons were planned with a First World War theme. A Remembrance service was held the following day at St Mary’s Parish Church, the Christmas truce football match was reenacted on the Thursday, while the whole school visited the Imperial War Museum in London at the end of the week.
