A major horse welfare charity which has its headquarters based in south Norfolk has expanded its operations after officially merging with another similar organisation.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary, which is responsible for more than 2,000 horses, donkeys and ponies at ten sites across the UK, including its HQ in Hapton, completed its merger with Scottish horse rescue charity Mountains Animal Sanctuary at the end of January.

The acquired centre will be called Redwings Mountains.
