Recruitment push begins for new Diss fire cadets

Children living in Diss aged between 13 and 17 years old are being offered the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a professional firefighter.

Diss Fire and Rescue Cadets has launched a fresh recruitment drive urging dedicated youngsters to come and receive firefighting training at Diss Fire Station, taking place on Tuesday evenings.

Cadets are given the chance to take part in hands-on drills planned and led by firefighters Harry Powell, Robert Powell and Paul Leeder, using real operational fire appliances and equipment, and they are encouraged to meet new people and climb the ranks to Cadet Crew Managers.

Anybody interested in participating can attend the sessions, which are at Diss Fire Station on Tuesday nights between 7pm and 9pm, or for additional information, email harry.powell@fire.norfolk.gov.uk
