Why is it that when people alight from buses and coaches at the Diss bus station they immediately attempt to cross the road directly opposite the station entrance and exit irrespective of the density of traffic?

Many of these foolish people are elderly and/or disabled and often will find themselves stuck in the middle of the road until some kind soul stops to allow them to make the safety of the pavement.

I am sure if not all the majority are aware that barely 100 yards along the pavement there is a controlled crossing at which they could safely and unhurriedly cross to Mere Street. Please stay safe this Christmas and enjoy shopping in Diss.
