Raise money for brave firefighters at Eye charity cycle event

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service is hosting its popular annual cycle sportive in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity at Eye fire station.

Held there previously in 2013, the event is on July 5 and features a range of courses for cyclists of all abilities to try.

It includes three distances from which to choose, 30 miles, 60 miles or 100 miles, with all routes starting and ending at Eye Fire Station where riders will be rewarded for their efforts with food and refreshment.

Each route has been chosen to take in the very best of the beautiful rolling countryside and villages that Suffolk has to offer.

Event co-ordinator, Carolyn Crabb, said: “This is a friendly event that invites every level of rider to set and achieve their own personal or team goals, in a fantastic atmosphere and with an entry fee (£15) that doesn’t break the bank.

“All profits raised will go to The Fire Fighters Charity, supporting injured fire service personnel and their families.

“The event is managed by volunteers, which I believe is what gives it such a community feel.”
