A care facility has raised a toast to its award-winning staff, who enjoyed success at an annual regional ceremony.

The Depperhaugh Nursing Home in Hoxne is celebrating after two of its staff picked up accolades at the recent Kingsley Healthcare 25th Anniversary Regional Care Awards.

Christine Dinnage and Sandra Moss both came out on top at a ceremony held at the Ivy House Country Hotel, in Oulton Broad, hosted by ITV Anglia news anchors David Whiteley and Becky Jago.

Mrs Dinnage, who earlier this year celebrated 35 years of service, took the Registered Nurse of the Year award for Kingsley’s Suffolk homes, while Mrs Moss was named as Support Worker of the Year.

Meanwhile, the home’s manager Debbie Reeve was a runner-up in the Care Home Manager of the Year category and head chef Patricia Stephen made the final shortlist for Chef of the Year.

Mrs Reeve, who has been manager at The Depperhaugh for more than two years, said: “I am very proud of my team, and Christine and Sandra are worthy winners. We are lucky to have so many long-serving, dedicated members of staff.”

In her nomination, Mrs Dinnage was described by one colleague as “a good, dependable nurse and the most dedicated, honest and hard-working person I have had the pleasure to work with”.

A senior support worker at the home from more than 20 years, Mrs Moss was described as “the epitome of a first-class carer, loved by residents and staff alike”.

“As a senior on days, she ensures shifts run smoothly,” added the citation. “She supports her colleagues and always wears a smile on her face.”

Elsewhere, Hannah Daley, who runs Kingsley’s home care branch in Mere Street, Diss, won the Home Care Manager Award.

The Kingsley Healthcare Group, which was founded by Daya Thayan and his wife Sumi in 1999, has 36 locations, caring for more than 1,500 residents with 2,200 colleagues.
