Public gets on board as Diss Games officially opens

Gamers were in their element last Saturday as they got a first look at one at a business 10 years in the making.

Diss Games in Vince’s Road, opened its doors to the public for its official opening, showcasing the likes of Dungeons and Dragons, Pokemon and Warhammer.

Owner Wayne Gummer opened the shop after a website he started in 2015 – to help people buy and sell second-hand Warhammer models – became a huge success.

“We were absolutely blown away by the day and the support from the local community,” said the 40-year-old.

“I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone who has given us the perfect start as a business.”

The event included people championing their favourite part of the hobby, 3D printing and a games master showing people Dungeons and Dragons.

There was also a free model painting competition, which saw winner Jordan Marsh take home £80 of store credit.
