A proposal seeking outline planning permission to further expand the housing landscape in Scole has been submitted to South Norfolk Council.

The application, put forward by a Mr B Tunmore, of White Lodge Farm in Fen Road, Carlton Rode, details plans to build 17 homes, a new village hall, associated parking, open, space recreation and wildlife areas at land off Norwich Road.

The applicant’s statement on South Norfolk Council’s planning portal reads: “In terms of location sustainability it is true to say that the site is exceedingly well placed to support the social, cultural and economic dimensions that the “Service” village of Scole is envisaged to facilitate.”

However, Veronica Nelhams, a resident of the nearby Low Road, expressed concerns at the plans in a public consultation submission, stating: “In the recent past few years we have had two developments in the village and I question whether we need a third of this size.”
