Harleston and District Round Table’s Beer Festival pulls in the crowds
The drink flowed at the fifth annual Harleston and District Round Table Beer Festival.
The two-day event – held on June 21 and 22 – raised more than £8,000, which will be used for good causes.
More than 900 visitors drank a total of 2,400 pints of beer and cider, while demolishing some 600 burgers and hotdogs.
Vice-chairman Rob Vincent said: “The idea came about from members wanting a fundraising event in the town, so all the funds could go back into the local community.
“Every year, we have such a great turnout and this was no exception. We would like to thank all the people who came, the volunteers and sponsors, as without all of them, this would not happen.”
Members of the Harleston Magpies hockey team helped at the event and some of the money from the event will go to towards resurfacing their pitch.
This is the biggest fundraiser for the group, but they also organise the town’s Santa Sleigh Run to raise more money.”
Mr Vincent said: “We put on these events so that we can give more back to the community.
“Good causes can then approach us for funds and we can look at what we can do for them.”
