Norfolk Police renew appeal after young child seriously injured in A134 Brandon Road, Thetford, fail to stop collision in town





Police have renewed their appeal to locate a driver after young child was injured in a fail to stop collision on Monday.

Diss Express reported yesterday a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision after the incident on the A134 Brandon Road, Thetford.

He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has since been released. No further action will be taken against him and he has been eliminated from all inquiries.

The child was taken to hospital after the crash at around 6.50pm.

The road was closed for just under an hour while emergency services attended to the child.

They were taken to West Suffolk Hospital and later transferred to Addenbrooke’s, where they remain in a serious but stable condition.

Peter Howlett, of the Roads and Armed Policing, said: “We are still working though a number of enquiries to locate the outstanding driver.

“It is important that anyone with any information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, gets in touch.”
