Police recover stolen wheelbarrows from Mrs G’s Pumpkin Patch in Garboldisham

A pumpkin patch which had wheelbarrows stolen from its site around a week before it was set to open have had some of them recovered by police.

The theft at Mrs G’s Pumpkin Patch in Garboldisham, which took place between October 5 and 6, saw 27 wheelbarrows taken as well as a compact John Deere 2320 tractor with a rear mounted Fleming Top3 mower.

But yesterday, Breckland Police posted on social media that officers have managed to recover 11 of the barrows from an area near Mildenhall.

In its post, Breckland Police said: “Operation Moonshot officers found them at a site in Suffolk, along with various other items stolen from elsewhere in the UK. They’ll be heading back to Mrs G’s Pumpkin Patch shortly.

“We know that rural crime has a real impact on many people here and our officers are working hard to both prevent thefts from happening and to recover goods if the crimes do occur.
