A theft of a jewellery box during a burglary in Mendlesham yesterday has resulted in a police appeal for witnesses.

A home on Old Station Road was broken into through the rear doors some time between 3pm and 10pm yesterday, and an untidy search was carried out before a wooden box containing costume jewellery was stolen.

Those with relevant information about this incident should contact DC Barry Simpson on 101, quoting reference number ST/15/207, or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
