Jo Hearle Beauty and Nail Salon in Harleston wins prestige award

A salon owner has spoken of her joy after winning a prestigious award – just five months since moving into new premises.

Jo Hearle Beauty and Nail Salon, which operates above Handsomes of Harleston Barbers in Union Street, was crowned Beauty and Nail Salon of the Year at the 2024 Prestige Awards.

Ms Hearle, who previously ran her business from Bressingham before moving in October, said she was delighted to come out on top.

She added: “I was sent an email from the organisers, who had judged me through my six years of five-star Google and Facebook reviews, saying I had an impeccable record.”

“It was great to hear I had won as I feel I treat my clients with love and respect. I try to spoil them, so to be recognised is this way is lovely.”

The 42-year-old got into the beauty industry in 2017, first starting at East Anglian Beauty Training before enrolling in the Norwich School of Beauty.

She is now a fully insured and qualified level 2 and 3 skincare specialist beautician, spa beauty massage therapist and level 2 professional makeup artist.

The salon offers a wide range of beauty services, such as manicures, pedicures, brow treatments, full nail services, waxing and facial treatments.

Asked why she thinks her clients enjoy the service she provides, she said: “I have a very healthy attitude when it comes to clients.

“I try to listen to their needs and I am genuinely interested in what they are looking for. I try to offer a bespoke service, pampering everyone who comes to see me.”

Ms Hearle said she was proud that her hard work in building her business had been recognised with the award.

“It shows you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it,” she said.

“I survived covid and a lot of challenging things since I started but what has kept going is my clients and my family – I am so grateful.

“I am at a mid-point in my career. I have done a fair bit already but I know there is still so much to come as this is a journey, not a destination,” she added.
