Organiser Kath Jones hosts last craft fair at The Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary
The organiser of a village craft fair has bowed out in style, having overseen more than 20 events in her time at the helm.
Kath Jones started running spring craft fairs at the Pennoyer Centre in Pulham St Mary in 2012, but will step away from the role after overseeing her last one last Saturday, with Sophie Taylor taking over.
“It went really well and was very successful,” said Ms Jones. “We were blessed with such good weather and lots of people came along.
“I have done it so many times that I feel the time is right for me to move on and hand over the reins over to Sophie.”
A trustee at the centre, Ms Jones said the fairs acted as one its biggest fundraisers, making them vitally important to its success.
“The centre is crucial to the community – it is our hub,” she said. “We provide so many activities for people, not only in this village but also the wider area as well.
“We have all manner of groups for people, so it is important that we can raise money like this with these fairs to help with the upkeep of the centre, as it is all self-funded.”
Saturday’s event raised just over £1,000 for the Station Road venue.
“I would like to say thank you to everyone who has and still does support the fairs, especially the visitors, the lovely stallholders that come from far and wide and our brilliant volunteers, who make it all work,” she added.
