Joy as Christmas cracker raises funds for Yaxley and Mellis Preschool
A village preschool raised hundreds of pounds at the weekend with a Christmas craft fair.
Yaxley and Mellis Preschool, which held the event at Mellis School Hall, saw people young and old join in the festive fun.
Jess Southey, deputy manager of the preschool, which has 30 children, said the day had been a success.
“It went really well and raised £470 for the preschool, which we are so pleased with,” she said.
“We have had parents and the local community help us to reach that figure, which has been lovely.”
Not only did the Christmas fair have craft stalls, it also had a tombola, a raffle and a cake stall filled with tasty treats.
The deputy manager added: “We would like to thank everyone for coming and being a part of the fair.
“As well as those that helped set it up and the stallholders, this money will really help us make Yaxley and Mellis Preschool even better.”
The money that was raised will go towards buying new furniture and a changing table for the preschool’s bathroom.
