Hundreds show support for Armed Forces Day in Diss

Hundreds of people showed their support for the Armed Forces on June 29.

Armed Forces Day gave people the chance to show support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community, from serving personnel to service families, veterans and cadets.

Robert Rogers, branch secretary for the Diss and District branch of the Royal British Legion, which arranged the event in Diss town centre, said it was a huge success.

“We’d like to thank everyone who came along,” said Mr Rogers.

“A massive thanks goes to the Royal Air Force for sending some service personnel from RAF Honington, a Jeep and a small exhibition.

“Along with Diss Royal Air Forces Association, we have invited them to attend our Remembrance parade and service in November.

“It was great to see both our army and air force cadets engaging with the public. The Air Training Corps even had a miniature flight simulator for budding pilots.”
