Grain Brewery in Alburgh celebrates with Hop Harvest Party

The beers flowed at a multi award-winning brewery last weekend as it celebrated with its second Hop Harvest Party.

Grain Brewery, at South Farm in Alburgh, welcomed drinkers on Saturday to celebrate the harvest with a range of cask and keg beers, as well as green-hopped beers from its brewing friends at Ampersand in Diss and Tindall Brewery in Bungay.

As well as beer, food came in the form of hotdogs from The Flying Chef and loaded fries courtesy of the Bucket List .

Brewery owner Phil Halls said: “The Hop Harvest Party was a great success and we had a bigger turnout than last year’s inaugural event.

“Our Fresh Hopped Beer went down a storm with everyone and we had to unexpectedly restock halfway through the event, because it was that popular.”

As well as the beer and food, there was music at the event, including from the brewery’s house band, The Butcher’s Dog, who played a fusion of rock, punk and funk.

Mr Halls said: “I want to thank everyone for making the event a proper party, with many dancing along to the band after dark.

“We even had visitors from as far away as Australia, who timed their trip to the UK to be able to attend.”

Grain Brewery’s next event will be its Late Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 26.

This will see the brewery taproom transformed into a German beer hall, with plenty of Munich beers to choose from and currywurst on offer to accompany the pints.
