Two people were taken to hospital after a car accident in Oakley on Saturday night.

Emergency services were alerted to the B1118 at about 10.35pm. On arrival they found a vehicle off the road and on its side, with one person trapped.

A fire crew from Stradbroke, as well as two appliances from Diss, helped cut the trapped person free from the vehicle, and had left the scene just before midnight.

One patient, a female in her late teens, was treated for abdomen and neck pains and the other, a male, was in a stable condition despite being found unconscious.

They were taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds. They are said to both be in stable condition.
