Organiser of next year’s Diss|Fest hoping for community input

Preparations are underway for next year's Diss | Fest ANL-150921-105515001

One of the organisers for a Diss festival next year says they hope to involve the community in the planning as preparations for the event begin.

Diss|Fest 2016, which is due to be held from July 28 to 31 next year, to the 31st of July), it incorporates workshops and performances covering music, theatre, visual art and more.

It is organised by Unit Twenty Three, based in Vince’s Road.

Joshua Gould, project lead for the festival, said: “We want to involve members of the community more in the planning this year, giving this festival a firm community feel, delivering what they want, and how they want it.

A meeting, the first of a number of sessions to be held to help organise the festival, will take place from 6pm to 7pm at Diss Youth and Community Centre.

Potential visitors to the event, as well as artists and venues, are encouraged to attend.
