It is two weeks until Winslow Hall welcomes audiences to the third Winslow Hall Opera festival.

The festival is run by the hall’s owner, Christopher Gilmour, in a marquee in the hall’s grounds.

This year’s offering, Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, is based on Sir Walter Scott’s 1819 novel The Bride of Lammermoor. It will be directed by Mr Gilmour’s brother, the conductor Oliver Gilmour.

Greek Australian soprano Elena Xanthoudakis performs the title role. The show runs from September 5 to 14. Tickets £75. See www.winslowhallopera.co.uk
