Open day for Eye development
An award-winning East Anglian building company is opening the doors to its new Show Home at Eye.
Bennett Homes, which is based at Nowton near Bury St Edmunds, is holding an Open Day at its Maltsters’ Yard development onSaturday, March 14, from 10am to 5pm.
Recently shortlisted for New Build of the Year 2014 in the National Federation of Builders’ annual awards, Maltsters’ Yard is an age-restricted development for the over 55s.
It comprises 16 high specification homes, set around an attractive courtyard garden which is quintessentially English with block-paved areas, clipped hedges, bench seats and Victorian-style planting, delivering a real sense of community and a perfect home for a ‘lock up and leave lifestyle’.
There are 14 two and three bedroom homes, all with garage and their own private garden, in addition to two attractive apartments.
All properties are now built and the gardens professionally landscaped.
The new Show Home is a three-bedroom house with generously-sized rooms and a high specification kitchen and bathroom.
In the living room, a feature wall has been created with striped wallpaper which incorporates crystal chippings, giving an almost 3D effect when the sunlight catches it.
The master bedroom has a tranquil and calming atmosphere with a hint of glamour and features taupe and cream fabrics which contrast nicely with the darker furniture.
The second bedroom or guest room is dressed in light colours, with a beautiful silk bed throw and detailed sequin cushions and the third bedroom can be used as an occasional bedroom or study.
The company’s team of home advisers will be at the open day to answer any questions visitors may have and show them round the development.
Dawn Urry, Bennett Homes sales and marketing manager said: “We are looking forward to introducing customers to our stunning new Show Home at the Open Day. With our extensive experience of creating homes for active retirees, we have incorporated all the features we know are important - including the fact that your home is perfect for a ‘lock up and leave’ lifestyle for holiday and extended leisure time.
“Maltsters’ Yard is already proving popular with this age group; 50 per cent of the homes are now already occupied or reserved.”
Eye offers an excellent range of independent shops, including local butchers, small supermarkets, delicatessen, antiques and gift shops, a health centre, schools a pub with a weekly country market held in the Town Hall. It also enjoys easy access to other towns and cities including Diss which is just four miles away, from where there are regular train services to Norwich, Ipswich and London.
Prices range from £149,995 for a two bedroom apartment and from £239,995 for a three bedroom semi-detached house.
