One dead and three injured following two-car collision in Wortwell

A man involved in a serious two-vehicle collision in Wortwell yesterday has died from his injuries.

Ambulance, police and fire services were called out shortly after 4.30pm yesterday afternoon, following a collision between a silver Peugeot 206 and a red Seat Ibiza on the A143.

The male driver of the Peugeot, who has not been named, was transported via East Anglian Air Ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

The female driver of the Seat sustained severe leg injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridgeshire - however, she is now said to be in a stable condition.

Two other passengers in the Seat, a man and a young child, were taken by land ambulance for treatment at West Suffolk Hospital.

The man is reported to have suffered serious leg injuries, while the child sustained minor injuries.

Anybody with information about the collision is urged to contact Norfolk Police on 101.
