Number of grants helping keep 1st Dickleburgh Sea Scout Group well afloat
The 1st Dickleburgh Sea Scouts Group is celebrating after grant awards totalling £11,000, including £3,000 from South Norfolk Council.
The money will go towards new camping, rafting and training equipment for their scouting activities that help local young people take part in watersports such as sailing, kayaking and rafting on the Southern Broads rivers.
Other grants were received from Saffron Housing, The Geoffrey Watling Charity, Tenec Trust (Pulham Market), Dickleburgh Parish Council, Townland Trust, Hedley Foundation and the Paul Bassham Charitable Trust.
Paul Playford, Group Scout Leader, said: “We are indebted to all our funding providers including the Council, whose support helps youngsters continue to enjoy our adventurous scouting activities. It’s such great recognition of the youth work we do across the district.”
