Norfolk Homes lodges plans for 177 new houses in Diss
Nearly 180 new homes are set to be built in a Norfolk town.
Plans lodged with South Norfolk Council include detailed designs for the development in Diss, which will be built on land off Shelfanger Road.
The council approved outline planning permission for the project last year and this included the new housing, space for the expansion of Diss Cemetery and a new link road.
Norfolk Homes, the developers, are now seeking approval for the appearance, scale, and layout of the residential part of the scheme, which includes 177 houses.
The site spans more than 20 acres of land between between Shelfanger Road and the Heywood Road/Burston Road junction on the edge of Diss.
The proposed development comprises a mix of one, two, three, and four bedroom houses, along with areas of open space.
Of the 177 dwellings set out in the designs, 58 of these will be affordable homes.
Norfolk Homes says the proposed housing layout has been developed with “particular consideration” to retaining rural views and footpath links.
The application will be determined by South Norfolk Council in due course.
