105-year-old reveals secret to long and happy life

Trust in the Lord, plenty of exercise and plenty of salt is Nora Brier’s recipe for a long and happy life.

Born in Finningham on October 3, 1914, the former nurse and cashier celebrated her 105th birthday two weeks ago.

“I know they now say it is not good for you, but I still have plenty of salt,” said Mrs Brier, of Wayside Cottage, Hopton.

“So does all my family and we are all long-living.”

Described as incredibly active and curious by daughter Sonya Long, Mrs Brier celebrated her milestone birthday five years ago with an aerobatic flight experience.

This year, she said she would have loved to do wing walking, but was told she was too old.

In her free time, she keeps to the ground and enjoys gardening, puzzles and spending time with her family.
