Diss Town Council has launched a new website following months of research and development.

The authority decided to change the design of the site after new regulations about accessibility came into force in September.

Deputy clerk Sonya French and marketing and administrative assistant Kimberley Jaynes worked with Steve Jackman, who has supported more than 100 town and parish council sites, on the project.

Town mayor Sonia Browne, who is writing a regular blog for the pages, said: “I have seen the initial stages of the new website, which Sonya and Kimberley worked tirelessly on.

“I hope that those who visit our site have a beneficial experience and that they will want to return.”

The site features information on the town, including Diss Park and the Mere, the authority itself, its councillors and forthcoming meetings, and details on Diss Youth and Community Centre, the sports ground and skate park.

It can be viewed by going to www.diss.gov.uk, where the council’s contact details can be found.
