New owners plan to restore Mere Street building in Diss to former glory
The new owners of a former bank in Mere Street in Diss have promised to restore the building to its former glory.
The NatWest building has stood empty since the branch was closed in May 30 last year.
It has now been acquired by new owners, who intend to use the site for a "commercial venture".
One of the owners, who asked to remain anonymous for the time being, said: “When the bank left, the community lost an important service.
"We would like to bring something back and restore the building to how it used to be.”
"We will be keen to hear from anyone who has knowledge of old bank interiors or the recreation of vintage windows."
The owners plan to disclose more information in the future about the new business, saying: “Watch this space.”
