A hairdresser is bringing a new offering to Diss by using all organic products.

Dora Vasileva opened D&G Hair salon at the end of July after moving to Diss with her husband, Graham.

Based in the forecourt of Roy Humphreys Garage in Victoria Road, Dora wanted to offer people something different and uses all organic products.

“The products I use are vegan, organic and cruelty free,” she said. “I don’t use anything with sulphates, perfumes or parabens.

“Artificial chemicals, such as ammonia, perfumes and colours, increases the risk of allergies, cancer and hormone disturbances, which could also lead to infertility in men and women.

“If you can achieve a more natural result with a professional colour that is gentle and less harmful, why wouldn’t you use it?”

Dora has been hairdressing for more than 25 years and also runs a salon in London, where she employs 21 staff.

She moved to Diss after Graham was transferred to the town through his job as an engineer.

“When I was looking for a salon, at first I wanted one in town,” said Dora.

“But people said there were already too many salons there, and my husband spotted the vacancy in Victoria Road, so I took it. It’s great.

“So many people are interested in using organic products.

“There is also a direct correlation between self-esteem and hair; when we look good, we feel good.”
