Nearly 800 new apprenticeships started in Central Suffolk and North Ipswich

Latest figures show 790 new apprenticeships were started by people in Central Suffolk and North Ipswich in the past year.

It takes the total of new apprenticeships to 3,720 since 2010, while overall in the East of England, there was an increase of 13.3 per cent in 2014/15 compared to the previous year.

Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP Dr Dan Poulter said: “These figures are fantastic news. 790 new apprenticeships in Central Suffolk and North Ipswich since 2010 means more young people getting the skills to succeed and get on in life.

“Apprenticeships are at the heart of Government plans to deliver a more secure future for young people, I am pleased with a commitment to deliver 3 million apprenticeships by 2020

“Apprenticeships give young people proper training and the prospect of a better future.

“Millions of young people are getting a good start in life, learning a trade, and knowing the purpose and pride that comes with that.”
