Narrow miss after suspected drunk driver hit wall where school children congregate to catch the bus


A driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after their vehicle collided with a brick wall at Yaxley.

The driver failed a road side breath test and admitted they had been drinking heavily the night before, according to Halesworth Police.

The wall was badly damaged, the driver's own car was written off and another damaged, during the incident on May 10.

A spokesperson, said; "Luckily, there were no injuries, but this happened where school children congregate in Yaxley to wait for their school bus each morning.

"Had the accident happened an hour later than it did, then a number of school children would have been in the immediate vicinity."
